The goal of
the literature table volunteers is to offer for sale a selection of
books that we hope is of interest and value to the BFM community.
The Literature
Table offers books for sale during coffee after Meeting for Worship
during the academic year that support Quaker values and topics.
The Christmas
sale will be run independently from QuakerBooks this year in order to
increase offerings. The Literature Table has a larger inventory and
will change the selec-tion weekly.
Corry Rooks,
Tilly Muller, Leslie Sussan, and Jim Rooks staff the table each week.
They are encouraging Friends to write short reviews, or
“squibs,” about books they like so that these can be put on
bookmarks as way of sharing what we read as a community.
The Literature
Table has an inventory of 100 books valued at roughly $1,500. The
table made over $500 for the Meeting last year.
