February 20th:
Clerking & Leadership in Quaker Meetings & Committees

Once again, BFM is hosting a workshop by Arthur Larrabee on clerking and leadership in Quaker meetings and committees. It will be on Saturday, February 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in our Meeting room. The workshop is strictly limited to 40 participants. Registration has been opened to the wider BYM community, so please register soon via http://www.bym-rsf.org (Look down the calendar listings to February 20). Registration forms are also available on the hall table at Meeting or from Allen Brimmer 240-401-4578, abrimmer@cpcug.org

Arthur has facilitated hundreds of work-shops for Quaker meetings and schools, and has an outstanding reputation as a teacher. His annual workshop on clerking at Pendle Hill regularly sells out. In this workshop we will explore:

- Quaker decision-making processes
- Specific skills needed to serve successfully as a member of a committee
- Effective clerking skills

The Nominating Committee hopes that each committee will send at least one member to this workshop. To help defray the costs, there will be a nominal fee of $40 per participant, covering workshop materials, morning refreshments, and lunch. Committees may have the necessary funds in their budgets to send one person. Contact Nominating if assistance is needed.
